The Man of the People

Oct 29th, 2007 | By Joe McDonald | Category: NYSR Blog

Sean AVery decided to take in the thid period of the game against the Bolts standing in the Blue Seats - the 400 section.
Avery, recovering from a seperated shoulder, came in to elevator on the fifth floor and hit nine saying he wanted to be with the people. He was seen signing autographs to every [...]

At least they got a point

Oct 20th, 2007 | By Joe McDonald | Category: NYSR Blog

Maybe that’s all tou can ask for if the team was playing at 100 percent. But they are not amd there’s no chemistry between the top forwardd.
Maybe they are trying to be too fancy. You never know, but something has to happen soon.
On a sadder note Marty Straka will be out for a while with [...]

The Rangers Need Life

Oct 20th, 2007 | By Joe McDonald | Category: NYSR Blog

Is it me or do the Rangers need some shot of life? Or maybe theywere. Just too concerned about Joe Torre’s situation to be concerned with the game at hand.
But 4 shots? Surely the Blueshirts could muster a better effort.
And thanks to Henrik Lundqvist it remained scoreless. Only his brilliance kept the Bruins off [...]

Live From Boston

Oct 20th, 2007 | By Joe McDonald | Category: NYSR Blog

Here in Beantown with the GF. They moved the game to 4 p.m. not to compete with the ALCS.
The Rangers are looking to get off the snide after their 2-4 start and if they can get a win here it will help with games against Pittsburgh, Jersey and Toronto next week.
But it won’t be easy [...]

Yankees Got What They Deserved

Oct 19th, 2007 | By Joe McDonald | Category: Baseball Stories

Joe Torre deserved better. He deserved more than being forced to take a two and a half hour flight to Tampa, just to be told he is welcome to come back, but must take a pay cut.

Ouch

Oct 13th, 2007 | By Joe McDonald | Category: NYSR Blog

Three Ottawa goals in 52 second is the difference in this game.
The Rangers started to get sloppy there in the second giving the Sens a chance on the power play.
Unless they can mount an offensive in the third this game is pretty much over.

What A Difference A Day Makes

Oct 13th, 2007 | By Joe McDonald | Category: NYSR Blog

After a great first period yesterday, today, the Rangers came out a little flat and needed to get going. Fortunately, Henrik Lundqvist was up to the task as he stopped all 15 Ottawa shots.
Jaromir Jagr hurt his knee, but didn’t miss any time and was back on the ice the next shift.
Maybe more life in [...]

Thirty Seven Shots

Oct 12th, 2007 | By Joe McDonald | Category: NYSR Blog

And three goals on….
The Rangers have dominated this game, even though a Petr Prucha goal was waived off, they still looked good, keeping the puck in Washington’s end.
No penatlties either in the second for the Blueshirts, so that’s good too.
Only Olie the Goalie is keeping this from being a blowout.
More later…

What a Period

Oct 12th, 2007 | By Joe McDonald | Category: NYSR Blog

The Rangers may have played their best period all season going three for five on the power play and peppering Olaf Kolzig with 20 shots.
The Blueshirts seemed very cohesive as a unit on the man advantage, which is something that dogged them on the Island on Wednesday. After that game, both Brendan Shanahan and Tom Renney [...]

The Washington Nylanders Come into Town

Oct 12th, 2007 | By Joe McDonald | Category: NYSR Blog

The Rangers come home tonight with the Capitals visiting. Looking for a win, Tom Renney is dressing Paul Mara in favor of Jason Strudwick. Otherwise it’s the same lineup as Wednesday.
It also marks the return of Michael Nylander, who will be coming in as a member of the Caps after signing a deal with Washington [...]
