From Practice Today

Nov 30th, 2007 | By Joe McDonald | Category: NYSR Blog

From Greenburgh, the Rangers has a light practice with everyone particpating except Sean Avery and Paul Mara, who sprained his shoulder in yesterday’s game.
Towards the end of practice, some of the Rangers were hitting pucks off a piece of wood in front of the net to practice rebounds, which is something Chris Drury brought from [...]

On Drury….

Sep 13th, 2007 | By Joe McDonald | Category: NYSR Blog

We spoke to Chris Drury and he said he felt that ready.
Playing on a team of stars in Colorado, he seems to be ready to be part of that atmosphere again in New York. He said he was ready to put the team first, even if it means less ice time for him. Drury said: [...]

Pride of the Garden

May 6th, 2007 | By Joe McDonald | Category: NYSR Blog

Although they lost, this season proved the Rangers are back as a force in New York. No longer considered a joke, the Blueshirts showed they could do the city proud.

Can the Rangers catch up?
Stay tuned….

Game 6

May 6th, 2007 | By Joe McDonald | Category: NYSR Blog

My adapter died on me. I do have another one at home, but I had to use one lent to me by Newsday’s Tom Rock, so I have enough juice for the game.
Anyway, Buffalo is playing their game, which doesn’t bode well for the Rangers. And it makes sense that it’s now 3-2 Sabres halfway [...]

Through 1

May 4th, 2007 | By Joe McDonald | Category: NYSR Blog

Ok it looks like Buffalo changed things up. They are now attacking the puck on the penalty kill and making it hard for the Rangers to set up the power play. The Rangers are 0-3.
As for the Blueshirts, their kill is just as strong as before because they are taking away the passing lanes.
Now, both [...]

Now it’s a Series

May 1st, 2007 | By Joe McDonald | Category: NYSR Blog

For those in Buffalo and in Canada who thought the series was over after Game 1, what are you thinking now?
A good solid win by the Rangers, who proved once again they can keep up with the Sabres, shift to shift.
Now, I know the question everyone is wondering: Did Daniel Briere score with 13.4 seconds [...]

1-0 Through 2s

May 1st, 2007 | By Joe McDonald | Category: NYSR Blog

Like so many times before the Ranger formula is working. As Jagr goes, so do the Rangers. A 1-0 lead let’s see it holds up.
Funny thing, this team looks great since Game 2 and needs this game, so will the final 20 hold up?
Remember Buffalo was not shut out all season, so it’s tough to [...]
