A few years ago, right after another failed attempt the Mets to get Manny Ramirez, Yankee general manager Brain Cashman joked with reporters that he was willing to toss in a few prospects if it meant getting Ramirez out of the division.
Mets GM Omar Minaya should check with Cashman to see if the offer still [...]

FLUSHING, NY – Things have sure changed around here at Shea Stadium over the past month. The Jerry Manuel era is in full swing with the transition period complete and the team winning games like it’s 2006 all over again.
Six games in a row will calm any clubhouse but this is not about the streak, [...]

FLUSHING, NY – Maybe for sanity reasons, the 8-2 Met drubbing of the Seattle Mariners was a welcome and needed event. Sure, you get your laughers every once in a while, but this season those easy wins just seem to be few and far between.

JUPITER, FL - The Mets are taking on the St. Louis Cards today at Roger Dean Stadium. The Mets bought most of their regulars with them today, with the exception of Brian Schneider and starting today will be Mike Pelfrey.
It will be interesting to see Delgado and if he will be able to break out [...]

Instead of going to Fort Myers, Pedro Martinez stayed behind and pitched a simulated game today facing minor leaguers and Carlos Beltran.
By the reporters calculation he went four innings, giving up four innings and one run. He walked none and struck out two and topped out at 87 MPH.
Afterwards, the future Hall of Famer was very pleased [...]

In a move that may be a precursor to trading Carlos Gomez, the Mets acquired their former farmhand Angel Pagan from the Chicago Cubs.
Pagan, 26, batted .264 (39-148) with 21 runs scored, 10 doubles, two triples, four home runs, 21 RBI, four stolen bases, 10 walks and 32 strikeouts last year for the Cubs.
“Angel is [...]

John Maine took a lot of ribbing from his teammates and even the media after last night’s 8-4 win over the Pirates. After hitting his first career home run, he didn’t hear the end of it and was called a power hitter by some Mets.
But it continued today. After doing a PSA, someone tome Maine he was now [...]

Am I the only one not happy with the win tonight? It looked like the Mets were going to run their way out of the game. First, Paul Lo Duca gets tossed out at third. David Wright doesn’t run back a trickler, which rolled back fair, then Carlos Delgado gets thrown out at second when he [...]
