If there’s any doubt out there about who runs the Rangers, the answer has clearly been stated.
This is Tom Renney’s team from top to bottom and the coach has put his stamp on the Broadway squad down to the last man on the roster.
Not since Herb Brooks stood behind the bench has a Ranger team [...]

It didn’t take Jaromir Jagr long to finally decide where to play next season. Actually the decision was done only hours after Glen Sather took the Rangers out of the running.

No one can blame Glen Sather for rejecting Jaromir Jagr’s proposal to come back as the highest paid Ranger. After all, the team wanted to spend its money on defense, while trying to get quicker up front.
So with Jagr dragging his feet with a decision and Sather no able to give him an incentive based [...]

Glen Sather announced today the Rangers signed Swedish left wing Markus Naslund and former Buffalo defenseman Dimitri Kalinin. Naslund got a two year deal, while Kalinin is on a one year plan.
Speaking on a conference call, Sather pointed out Naslund was part of the Blueshirt plan to play more with puck moving and wide [...]

After yesterday’s festivities, we are seeing Jaromir Jagr in a holding pattern in deciding with future. Taking the Matts Sundin route, Jagr issued a statement through his agent that he will take a few days to decide his future. Edmonton, Broadway or Omsk?
And that future probably won’t be in Pittsburgh who signed Islander retreads, Ruslan [...]

Sean Avery got away and Jaromir Jagr may be the next to go. Even the always lucrative Cablevision money isn’t enough to get the big name this year to the Garden.
So what’s Glen Sather to do?
Make a trade, of course.
After inking Wade Redden and Michal Rozsival on Tuesday, Sather delt some of his blue line [...]

On Jul. 2, 2007, the Rangers appeared to be a finished product, marked by the signings of both Chris Drury and Scott Gomez.
Now 365 days later, the Blueshirts are a work in progress, complete on defense, but still short on the forward end.
Taking care of blue line business on the first day of free agency, [...]

It’s been tough to be up close and personal with the New York Rangers after their season ended in May. As a reporter who covers two sports, I move directly to Shea Stadium once Madison Square Garden goes dark for the summer. So I know as much about the Rangers these days as the general [...]

It’s easy to pass blame in the Rangers five game loss during the second round of the playoffs. Before Blueshirt Nation lines up at the NHL offices to lynch the referees, though, look at the home team first.

Ok, the Rangers won a round and even though it’s a good thing to dispatch the Devils, the games will probably get a little harder from here on out.
For the next round, the Blueshirts will get three possible opponents depending on what happens in the two remianing series in the Eastern Conference.
The most likely opponent is the Pittsburgh Penguins, [...]
