FLUSHING, NY – Maybe for sanity reasons, the 8-2 Met drubbing of the Seattle Mariners was a welcome and needed event. Sure, you get your laughers every once in a while, but this season those easy wins just seem to be few and far between.

In a move that may be a precursor to trading Carlos Gomez, the Mets acquired their former farmhand Angel Pagan from the Chicago Cubs.
Pagan, 26, batted .264 (39-148) with 21 runs scored, 10 doubles, two triples, four home runs, 21 RBI, four stolen bases, 10 walks and 32 strikeouts last year for the Cubs.
